Time Zone Settings for Email Scheduling

Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) uses two levels of time zone settings for email scheduling:

Account Level

Applies to the entire enterprise account:

Account Settings Timezone

User Level

Overrides account-level settings when set:

User Settings Timezone

Impact on Email Scheduling

  • Without User-Level Setting: Uses account-level time zone, but doesn't display it:

No User-Specific Timezone in Email Scheduling

  • With User-Level Setting: Uses and displays the user's time zone:

    User-Specific Timezone in Email Scheduling

Best Practices

  1. Set User-Level Time Zones: Ensures visibility in the scheduling interface.
  2. Update When Traveling: Change user-level setting if scheduling from a different time zone.
  3. Verify Scheduled Times: Double-check time zone and send time for each campaign.
  4. Consider Global Audiences: Use segmentation or time optimization for different time zones.
  5. Account for Daylight Saving: Adjust schedules during time changes.

These practices help ensure accurate email send times across different time zones.
